Meet Unique Kitchens & Baths®
At Unique Kitchens & Baths®, design and craftsmanship live under one roof. Our in-house team designs and builds bespoke, British-inspired cabinetry in the USA, creating kitchens, baths, and custom spaces for homes nationwide.
What began as a shared passion for thoughtful interiors and beautifully crafted cabinetry has grown into a collaborative studio where designers and craftspeople work side by side. From initial concept through cabinetry production and delivery, our team brings every detail together with intention.
We collaborate closely with homeowners, interior designers, architects, and builders to create spaces that feel deeply personal, balancing timeless beauty, everyday function, and exceptional craftsmanship.
A team of designers, craftspeople, and makers brought together by a shared belief that exceptional spaces begin with thoughtful design and are brought to life through exceptional craftsmanship.

Tanya Smith-Shiflett
Founder | Kitchen Designer
Tanya Smith-Shiflett is the founder and creative force behind Unique Kitchens & Baths®, leading the studio's approach to thoughtful, highly personalized kitchen and bath design.
As an NKBA kitchen and bath designer, Tanya works closely with clients and design professionals to transform the way a space looks, feels, and functions. Her approach is collaborative and deeply considered, balancing architectural details, cabinetry, materials, and the rhythms of everyday life to create spaces that feel distinctly personal.
Working alongside UKB's in-house cabinetry team allows Tanya's designs to move seamlessly from concept into craftsmanship. Every detail can be considered together, giving her the freedom to design beyond standard sizes, finishes, or configurations and ensuring the finished cabinetry remains true to the original vision.
At the heart of her work is a simple philosophy: beautiful spaces should be as thoughtful as they are functional, and they should be made to be lived in for years to come.
David Shiflett
CFO | MASTER MILLWORKER
David Shiflett brings more than two decades of experience in residential construction, custom cabinetry, and fine millwork to Unique Kitchens & Baths®.
A Maryland native, David began working in the trades at a young age and went on to become a certified builder, developing a deep understanding of construction, materials, joinery, and the details that distinguish truly well-made cabinetry.
In 2017, he joined UKB alongside his wife, Tanya, helping shape the company into the integrated design and cabinetry studio it is today. As CFO and Master Millworker, David oversees the craftsmanship behind UKB's custom cabinetry, working closely with the design team to ensure what is envisioned on paper can be beautifully and precisely brought to life.
His approach is grounded in longevity: cabinetry should not simply look beautiful when it is installed, but continue to function beautifully for generations.
A Refined Approach to Custom Kitchen Design and Cabinetry
At Unique Kitchens & Baths®, the connection between our designers and craftspeople is at the heart of what we do. Your cabinetry is designed and built by one team, not designed here and outsourced elsewhere.
From the first sketches and material selections to fabrication and delivery, each project is approached as a whole. Our cabinetry is handcrafted in the USA, available in custom colors and stains, carefully finished, blanket-wrapped, and hand-delivered with the same attention given to the design itself.
It is a more personal way to create a home, built around collaboration, thoughtful choices, and craftsmanship meant to endure.
We'd love to see what we can create for you.
